Death Over Dinner

It could be the weirdest event you'll ever attend, but I think it will be a memorable experience so bear with me. Calgary, it's time to talk about death.

To do that, I'm bringing Michael Hebb, Founder of the Death over Dinner project and author of Let's Have Dinner and Talk about Death to Calgary. This isn't meant to be a morbid conversation, but a very human one, where attendees will consider what they want, both in life and during it's close. Many Canadians are now living into their 90's and even past 100 — some with quality, not just quantity — we think we have an excuse to procrastinate making our end-of-life wishes known. "It's always too soon until it's too late".

I want to spark a conversation and get people talking -- so we can lean into any fears we might have, get rid of inhibitions, and build deeper connections for a more fulfilling life. Essential conversations like this can't be kept a secret.
By making this uncomfortable topic, more comfortable, my hope is that Calgarians will do the groundwork to get their affairs in order - whether you're 18 or 99 years old. The Departing Details Workbook is an excellent compliment to this event as it offers a step-by-step guide to leaving our loved ones with the information they need to know. Being prepared is an act of love and kindness for one’s family. Thank you to the Departing Details Team for providing a digital download of the workbook to every attendee at the dinner.

So, let's break bread while we break the silence. The event producer, POP Kollaborative is planning an unforgettable night, so hopefully, people will bring their friends, family, coworkers, clients, and the like. I look forward to seeing you there!
